Alison A. Nieder is the executive editor of California Apparel News, a position she has held since 2000. Nieder has worked in publishing and in the apparel industry in California and New York. She has written for business publications Sportswear International, Fashion Reporter and Eyewear, consumer glossies Nylon and Fashion (Canada), and online for Copenhagen-based MyTrnd.com and London-based Not Just a Label. She is the author of several books published by Taschen, including Fashion of the 20th Century: 100 Years of Fashion Ads and Vintage T-Shirts. Nieder holds a master of arts degree in journalism from New York University, a bachelor of science degree in textiles and clothing from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and she studied fashion advertising and public relations at Parsons/The New School.
