Marisol Schulz has directed the Guadalajara International Book Fair since April 2013, the second largest book fair in the world, and the largest one in the Spanish-language. In 2010, she initiated the LéaLA project, launching a book fair in Los Angeles, organized by the Universidad de Guadalajara, that promotes books in Spanish and increases recognition of Latino populations, cultures and traditions. It is now the most established Spanish-language book fair in the U.S.A. Previously, Schulz worked for the publishing company Grupo Santillana, directing its Alfaguara and Taurus imprints.
